Our Process

Chris Smartt on a landscape consultation

Call, email or submit a request below to set up a free consultation. One of our designers will visit your home or business to see your space and listen to what you are looking for. The designer will share initial ideas, take photos, and collect any other pertinent information. Based on the scope and complexity of the project, they will discuss either moving forward with a 3D concept design or jumping to an installation bid. A design is often a necessary communication tool in bringing the vision for your outdoor space to life.

3d design services by Solstice Outdoors

DESIGN

We create a 3D visualization of what your space could look like based on our discussion during the consultation, our local landscaping knowledge, and design expertise. Design lead times vary but typically we will have an initial concept delivered to you within three to four weeks of receiving payment. Once you have the preliminary design in hand, we set up a meeting to discuss feedback, answer questions and make changes. Our goal is to land on a final design that excites you!

Landscape installation by Solstice Outdoors

INSTALL

After a clear game plan has been agreed to and a bid has been accepted, your project will be added to our installation queue. Depending on the time of year, current demands, and size/scope of your project, we schedule jobs anywhere from one to six months out. When we begin the installation, we make it our top priority to complete the job as collaboratively and efficiently as possible.

The question on everyone’s mind…

How much does landscape installation cost?

It’s difficult to answer because every space/client is unique and will require a custom proposal. That said, below are some rough estimates of what to expect on a relative scale.

  • $5000 - $10000

Installation of 1 - 3 new beds which includes edging, weed block, mulch or gravel, and plants

And/or a refresh of only plants & mulch for front or backyard

  • $10000 - $20000

    A small flagstone patio

And/or gravel paths w/ new beds

    And/or a drainage solution

  • $20000 - $40000

New hardscaping for full front or backyard

Will likely include various services & features offered - patio, paths, beds, planters, drainage solutions, privacy solutions, plants, irrigation, etc.

  • $40000 - $80000

New hardscaping for both front and backyard

Will likely include various services & features offered - patio, paths, beds, planters, drainage solutions, privacy solutions, plants, irrigation, etc.

  • $80000+

Typically homes in the country that have established (overgrown), sprawling landscaping in need of a full makeover

Or new builds on large plots of land that need landscaping on all sides of their house

“I saved money, time, and headaches using Solstice. Plus both my wife and I are thrilled with the results. Do yourself a favor and hire these guys and treat yourself to the highest professionalism, fairness, integrity, value, vision, and predictability at a fair and affordable price.”

— Jason Revill

“I should start by saying we are super picky, and have a difficult yard to work with in terms of slope, terrain, and orientation (north and west). Solstice had an incredible idea on handling the drainage with pocket beds, bull rock, and massive flagstone stepping stones around the house. It is unique, very rustic and natural, yet with plants in the beds still provides nice greenery for color and softening the texture.”

— Jeanne Davidson

“We are absolutely delighted by our entire experience working with Chris and the folks at Solstice... including initial landscape design process, the installation, communication process throughout, and most of all the finished Product. Our dry creek with boulders & plantings, fire-pit, flagstone pathway, and plant beds are beautiful and flow perfectly into our Hill Country setting.”
